Racial Justice Day

February 16, 2025
00:00 - 23:59

On February 16th, the Church observes Racial Justice Day, a time to reflect on the call to uphold the dignity of every person, regardless of race, ethnicity, or background. Rooted in Christ’s message of love, justice, and unity, this day reminds us of our responsibility to challenge discrimination, promote equality, and work for a world where all people are treated with fairness and respect.

Inspired by the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching, Racial Justice Day is an opportunity for individuals and communities to commit to fostering peace, understanding, and reconciliation in society.

Event Highlights:

  • Holy Mass & Special Intentions: Prayers and reflections will focus on justice, equality, and the dignity of every person as created in the image of God.
  • Scriptural Reflection: A homily will explore themes of justice and inclusion, inspired by Christ’s example of embracing all people with love and mercy.
  • Commitment to Action: Parishioners will be encouraged to take concrete steps to support racial justice, whether through education, advocacy, or acts of solidarity with marginalized communities.
  • Discussion & Awareness Initiatives: Talks, discussions, or resources may be provided to help deepen understanding of racial justice issues and ways to build a more inclusive community.

As we mark Racial Justice Day, let us renew our commitment to being witnesses of Christ’s love, standing against racism and injustice, and working toward a world that truly reflects God’s kingdom of peace and harmony. All are invited to join in prayer, reflection, and action.
